Sleepyhead

Jeremy was having a hard time eating lunch and settling down this afternoon, so I let him eat a waffle and sit on the couch to watch Madagascar, aka "the Lion movie." I'm tired too, since I like to take advantage of this precious little time that I have only one baby at home and take a nap when he does.

So we're over an hour behind our schedule. I go in my office to catch up on a couple of things.  Exhausted, I decide to go lay on the couch next to Jeremy and read until I can put him in his bed. As I walk in the living room, I notice that his eyes are just closing and he has part of a waffle in his mouth that he fell asleep chewing.

I pick him up, whisper to him to chew his waffle, and take him in his room. He says, "Covers." So I cover him up. Then he says, "I want to say 'Dear God,'" so I say a little prayer with him, give him a kiss, and leave the room. As I'm shutting his door, I look at him, all snuggly in his bed with his bear and stuffed animals around him.

He's content . . .

          . . . and so am I.

What a great moment! Thanks for sharing. I hope you feel no guilt about resting when he does- you and baby need it!
