My Spoiled Little Klepto

We decided to get out of the house for a couple of hours this evening and since it's been raining, the playground has been out of the question. So, we went to the mall because there is a little play place where the kids can run around and crawl on top of these soft rubbery toys.

Jeremy saw a mommy holding an orange and white stuffed fish toy and decided he wanted it, so he went up to her and tried to grab it. We distracted him but lo and behold, he went back to her again. We noticed later that she hid it behind her back!

He spotted another mommy holding a little motorcycle toy for her son while he was playing. Jeremy decided he wanted it so he went up to her and tried to take it. She was nice and let him play with it for a little while. He put it down after about a minute, so Justin "rescued" it and returned it. The mom hid it. :)

The last thing Jeremy tried to take was a football that a group of little boys had brought to play with. I think they were all related -- there were 3 of them. As soon as one of them would throw it, Jeremy would run and grab it and run away. The dad was really nice and said he could play with them but Jeremy didn't want to share. After he almost started to cry when he had to give the ball back, we decided it was time to go.

A tired Jeremy sat on his daddy's shoulders on our way out to the parking lot.

We decided that one of the reasons he thinks everyone should give him whatever he wants is because at church, people do exactly that. He doesn't know a stranger . . . this is why we have to watch him so carefully. Ahh . . . my poor spoiled little klepto.
