Here They Come . . .

I love looking at blogs of women who take Before and After pictures of their "cluttered areas." I never judge the Before picture and am always wowed by the After. However, I never want my Before pictures to be seen by anyone - but who am I fooling?  With two kids 4 and under and one on the way, no one expects my house to be perfect except me.

Why do I think it has to be?

Because it does.

The key reason my house gets cluttered is because we have too much stuff. Stuff that I feel like we need to hold on to . . . or can't throw away because someone could use it. For example, I have an entire drawer - BIG drawer, full of pens that I do not use and will not ever use again.

Why are they still in my house?

Because I can't bear to throw them away.  (Seriously, anyone want pens?)

So I am getting vulnerable. Here are some of my Befores - the jobs I want to have done this week. Today is Pantry & Cupboard day.

If you judge me, judge me with grace.
The Carb Cupboard: crackers, pastas, rice, and snacks.

Top of Pantry: breakfast & baking stuff
Bottom of pantry. I am very proud of my stockpile.
What's lurking in the pantry??
I can't wait to clean this off.
too much tupperware
baking cupboards
I hate this cupboard the most. Nothing matches.

You are a dear and a doll, and your home is EXACTLY what a "home", by definition, should be...homey!

It's inviting, warm, comfortable, welcoming, relaxing, and most of all REAL!

If you never straightened another cupboard in your lifetime, we couldn't love you more.

No one cares if clutter falls from the shelves, so don't do it because you fear someone might judge you. In ALL the areas of life which matter, you're the perfect sample!

I've found putting all the misc miss match and odds and ends (such as pens, old cleaning supplies) in a "free" box in a yard sale makes me feel good. You would be shocked at what people will take from a free table/box! Pretty much anything you feel horrible throwing out.
